Where there has never been electricity, fragments of these kinetic forces, harnessed and controlled with clean energy technologies, revolutionize life - from the magic of lighting up an entire room with the flip of a switch to turning on a fan for relief from heat and bugs, pumping water for irrigation and household use, powering small industry, operating electronics, running telecommunications, expanding health services, processing and refrigerating agricultural products, improving education and allowing diversification of household activities and timings.

 

Where there is fossil-fueled grid power, generating one’s own clean energy is good for the environment, lowers utility bills, and offers the freedom of living off-grid.

All of these advantages not only improve the lives of individuals and families, but also strengthen communities, build capacity at all levels, and develop hope and a vision for the future.

 

Though Friesen Energy was only recently established, since the late 1980s its founder and chief operator, Brad Friesen, has partnered with a variety of businesses, agencies and non-profits to bring clean energy to numerous villages and telecom sites in South Asia. He has also been involved with projects in West Africa and the USA.
